CARA SPENCER

For over 15 years I have been painting and teaching my way around the country spending time as a freelancer, a teacher, a grad student, and a full-time theatre artist. Some of my favorite regional and summer stocks gigs include: The Alley Theatre, KC Rep, Theatre Squared, Des Moines Metro Opera, Janiec Opera/Brevard Music Festival, and Music Theatre Wichita, and Tantrum Theatre. I have also worked as a freelance artist for various theatre gigs and mural designs/installations.

Currently I am working full-time as an instructor at the University of Arkansas, running the paint and props shops.

I am incredibly tenacious and very competitive. I love a new challenge and I do my best work under pressure. I enjoy working with a team and believe that the best art is created through collaboration of talents, all working together towards a shared vision.

When I'm not painting you can find me hanging out with my 11 year old puppy, Mia. Some of our favorite things include: running, hiking, swimming, reading, drinking wine, game nights, music, hanging out in coffee shops, and road-tripping.
